As of 2021, Taiwan produces over 80% of the world’s supply of advanced microchips, with almost $40B of its revenues coming from American companies.
China’s takeover of Taiwan is inevitable, and after watching the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it may only be a matter of time before they launch an attack. The day that China invades Taiwan and seizes control over the world’s microchip supply is the day China gains ultimate control over our lives.
American customers make up over 50% of global chip demand, yet only 12% of the global chip supply is manufactured in the U.S. To reduce our dependence on a hostile China, we need to bring chip manufacturing back to America. Responsibly sourcing our chips at home is the only way to mitigate China’s control over our technology, lives, and freedom.
Sign the petition to tell the top 25 U.S. chipmakers, designers, and their 50 largest American customers to stop outsourcing nearly all our chips from Taiwan. We are demanding that these companies take a corporate social responsibility pledge to source at least 50 percent of their chips from America by 2030.
It’s time to Chip in America, before it’s too late.
